About us
Ian Seccafien (Company Director) has 30+ years experience in Local Government, with a focus on Tree Management and Parks Operations. He worked at the City of Onkaparinga for 23 years starting in their Parks field teams before working his way into both Leadership and Strategic Operational roles. Moving to the City of Marion in 2020 to oversee their Tree Operations during COVID presented a unique challenge and opportunity to implement a GIS asset Management Systems (Forestree), streamline their tree management, expand and implement a bold tree planting program to plant 4,300 tree per annum to dramatically increase their urban forest. Leading to developing their first Tree Asset Management Plan in line with IPWEA’s asset management framework resulting in increased investment to the tune of $34mil over 10 years.
He has written urban forest operations manuals, strategic plans, contract specifications for tree works, tree planting, tree establishment. Undertaken staff recruitment, team leadership, safe systems of work and project management.
In his time at Marion he developed their Tree Interactive, successfully connected Forestree to Power BI and SalesForce and established a Regulated Tree Maintenance Rebate to protect trees on private land. Currently partnering with Forestree to develop a digitised Asset Management Plan to track Asset Planning KPI’s in realtime.
